Steel Framed Building Systems
Steel building structures have been around for over a hundred years. Industrial Parks, Commercial
storage, barns, Quonset huts, and of course, Residential usage such as sheds, carport/garages, and
storage.
Steel framing has always been the most cost effective method for any type of building structure.
Without sacrificing structural strength, with ease of assembly…which means a much faster
building schedule (time is money!)…steel will soon replace today’s very costly use of wood for
framing, siding, and roofing.
Simply stated, steel framing is much lighter, yet structurally stronger
than wood, and much faster to frame a house than with 2”x4” studs!
But steel building doesn’t mean it has to look like a ‘steel building’. We label it a steel building
because of its steel framing. Yes, often for commercial, industrial, and agricultural buildings, the
use of metal siding and roofing is common to keep costs down and faster completion of the
building.
However, besides the addition of design options for metal paneling (e.g. steel paneling
with wood grain features), it is just as easy to replace the metal with conventional siding/roofing
materials. Nearly every other aspect of a building project, wiring, plumbing, interior walls,
insulation, etc. are the same for a site built wood framed, or a steel building.
In Summary
The greatest advantage of a steel framed building, is the cost in regards to time and materials!
Remember to consult with a local dealer, and check the local building regulations for your project.
